Life after Esthetician School

In my class Monday my post graduate student asked me about how to find a job in a spa - all the spas she visited to interview told her they are looking for licensed estheticians with 5 to 10 years experience. This is not an isolated situation. I have been thinking about this for a few days and I wanted to share with you my advice I gave to her. First of all never, ever give up. keep knocking on doors and ask the spa director\manager if she would not mind auditioning you anyway as you would value their feedback. This gives you the opportunity to achieve 2 very valuable thing. one you will get very important feedback about your skills as an esthetician and any improvement if any you can make and the most important of all..They get to feel your hands and thats what you need to do. You need to WOW them with your professionalism, charm, like ability, skills and your ability to communicate. They just need to feel your hands and if you WOW them you may just change their mind. Have your audition skills down to a fine art. You can do this.
